For Joe Spiro’s London apartment, Studio Valerie Name crafted a calm, light-filled refuge that stands in deliberate contrast to the jeweler’s maximalist world. Rooted in warm minimalism, the space unfolds through careful architectural interventions, tactile materials, and bespoke collaborations - from sculptural wood furniture to hand-forged bronze details inspired by Spiro’s jewelry.
Spiro’s ancient-world jewelry became the heart of the project: an origin point from which the home unfolded. We studied his process and pieces as one studies ruins - fragments of identity, weight, and memory. From a single ring or amulet, we translated form and spirit into small bronze knobs, custom cabinetry, furniture, and lighting, allowing proportion, patina, and gentle geometry to guide each intervention.
The home grew outward from Spiro’s objects - through noble materials, hand-shaped elements, and our Scavo glass finishes - forming a quiet dialogue between artifact and space. A place where the past is not referenced but reawakened, shaping a residence that feels intimate, timeless, and unmistakably his.
